Karen Remmington initially gained a degree in Biology from Southampton University. After working briefly in biological research, she built a career in biomedical science publishing before stopping to have children.

Having been interested in acupuncture and receiving successful treatment for many years, Karen wanted to understand the theory and practice of Chinese Medicine and learn alternative treatment therapies. Her second degree is a First-class Honours BSc in Acupuncture from the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, which is the largest UK acupuncture college. This degree course is accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. She then completed a diploma in Tuina, which is a Chinese medical massage therapy.

Karen is a licensed acupuncturist and a member of the Association of Acupuncture Clinicians (AAC), which is a member organisation of the British Acupuncture Federation (BAF).
